Description
Bayport, New York, the hometown of the Hardy Boys, sits on the edge of an inlet that connects with the Atlantic Ocean. Waves batter the rocky cliffs. The air is clean and the streets are lined with oak trees. The town has a small cluster of office buildings and a bus stop; all surrounded by low-lying houses with driveways and yards and neatly trimmed shrubbery.
The town has remained pretty much the same throughout the Hardy Boys lives, but it has begun to grow and change. Many of the stores are now located on the outskirts of town near the mall and interstate leaving the town square with old, empty, and closed brick buildings.
The old port section isn't as vibrant as it was 70 years ago and in fact, this part of town can be dangerous at night. Once a thriving waterfront district, many of the buildings facing the piers are now run down and abandoned.
