"Hey! Don't do that here. You'll mess up my bedspread."
Rolling his eyes, Joe sat on the window sill and started sawing.
"Thank you, Joe."
"You're welcome, Martha Stewart."

Boy, this topic went off the rails fast.  ::) It went from; Game ideas, to Post War, to spot the error, to short post time. Post wars were not what I had in mind when I started this topic!

Oh I'm so late! But, I would love Hidden Staircase. :) That's all I can think of right now. :P

"The Hidden Staircase" would be great! Of the Nancy Drew books I've read, that's one of my top favorites. I also think "The Invisible Intruder" would be a great choice.

The Secret of The Old Clock (Nancy Drew Games #9) took bits and pieces from The Secret of The Old Clock, The Hidden Staircase, The Bungalow Mystery & The Mystery At Lilac Inn.  I'm not too sure if the game creators were using the 1930's versions of these books or the later 1950's-1970's rewrites.
VHS, S-VHS, Super Betamax, Mini DV, MicroMV, Betacam SP, U-Matic SP - NTSC/PAL/SECAM.  All transferred to DVD!

The book was made into a DS game that had only 30 minutes of gameplay and according to reviews was very boring.

Sounds like it was based more on the 1930's movie than the actual book.

Are you saying you found the 1930s movie boring? (And that's fine if that's your opinion- just curious.)
Personally, I really enjoyed all 4 of them. But I also like most everything when it comes to The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew.  ;D

The only 1930's Nancy Drew that I've seen is Nancy Drew, Reporter, since that one is in the public domain.  But from what I've read of the movie called The Hidden Staircase, the movie only uses the title of the book and then goes in a different direction from the book.

I've got all 4 of those Nancy Drew movies on the DVD released with the 2007 movie release. (Actually, I've got the 2002 TV-movie and 2007 movie too- as well as the 1990s Nancy Drew series on DVD and of course her appearances from the first two seasons of The Hardy Boys Nancy Drew Mysteries. If only I could get the rest of the Hardy Boys' appearances on DVD!)
I don't remember "The Hidden Staircase" enough to really compare the movie with the book- but yeah, from what I understand the titles are the same, but the movie definitely veers off from the book.

I know and that kinda enjoyed me. I think though, that despite that reference as well as the other game which is not connected to HER at all, it would still be a possibility in the future. Simply because on the HER forums there was a rather large petition for the game so I believe it would be a fan favorite -- if designed well of course. I have not played any other ND games outside of HER simply because I don't own those game consoles.
