For those of you who don't have the 2006 DVD's, Amazon's Instant Video Service has all 13 episodes of the 1995 series up for sale.

Of course, AIVS is only available in the US, so for those of us in Canada, you still need to rely on the DVD's (which I think still give the better quality).
VHS, S-VHS, Super Betamax, Mini DV, MicroMV, Betacam SP, U-Matic SP - NTSC/PAL/SECAM.  All transferred to DVD!

Yep- I noticed this recently. Thanks for posting it. I prefer to own the DVDs myself so I generally don't go in for digital copies of episodes like this, but it's good to know it's available- especially as the DVDs become harder to find over time...
For the record, Season 3 of the '70s Hardy Boys show is available through Amazon's Instant Video service too. (But I haven't seen Seasons 1 and 2 on there, for some reason...)

Amazon Instant Video is available in territories other than the US. Here in the UK however, it doesn't include any Hardy Boys content.

Here in Canada there is no Amazon Instant Video.  There are ways to fool the Amazon site to think that that your computer is in the US, but those are illegal ways, and even Amazon's website for AIVS says the videos are only licensed for US distribution.

So, for this Canadian show, the DVDs of The Hardy Boys are only available in Canada, but not in America. But Amazon.com has the episodes available digitally for download but only in the USA and not Canada. Well, at least Canada and USA are both Region 1 when it comes to DVDs, so Americans can still get the DVDs ordered and watch them that way too. Instant video has its uses, but I generally prefer to have the DVDs themselves for a long term investment. (Thankfully, I got both The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew on DVD when they were first released.) But it's good to know there are other options out there for people. It's unfortunate that the shows have not been made available in the rest of the world. I think the best option for people outside of North America is to invest in a multi region DVD player.

The DVD's for the show have been out-of-print for a few years now.  But, remember there were DVD's released in Europe.

Oh, okay- were there? I didn't realize this show was available in Region 2 as well. Nice.

There was that release of the Nancy Drew episodes over in Europe.  When I think of the 95 series, I automatically include the Nancy Drew episodes.

Duh- yeah, I think I posted that Region 2 DVD cover for those Nancy Drew episodes too... yeah, I tend to include that series with The Hardy Boys series too.

It's also easy to consider the two as one series, especially with those two crossover episodes.

I was able to get the DVD's locally at a store, for about $5.00 each.

I do own some Region 2 DVD'S of BBC shows, that I can watch on my computer with VLC.

Awesome! Glad you were able to get The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew DVDs. And thanks for the tip about VLC- I have that video player, but I didn't realize it can play Region 2 DVDs. Sweet! I will have to try that out. :) 8)

Not a problem. :) Yeah, it's nice, do you have Region 2 shows on DVD?

MacGyver

No (though I might be interested in investing in some at some point.) But I do have the Region 2 DVD release of The Three Investigators and The Secret of Terror Castle that a member on the forums here was kind enough to convert to a Region 1 compatible DVD for me. :) 8) (And I am grateful for that, of course. But it'd be cool to see if I can get the Region 2 DVD itself to run in VLC.)

Ah, I have Spooks: Code 9 only released in Region 2, as soon I knew I could run it on VLC, I ordered it. :)
