#24 As the Falcon Flies
Circling Danger
Frank and Joe Hardy are on vacation in Alaska, visiting their parents' friends, the Adenshaws, and are looking forward to seeing glaciers, whales, and maybe even the northern lights during their trip. There's just one rule: no cases.
The Adenshaws' daugher, Kate, is eager to show the brothers Steve, the peregrine falcon she captured from the wild and trained. Kate loves falconry for the awe inspired by watching the birds in their element, and Steve is the quickest she's ever seen. But for some people the sport is all about the money. There's a major competition coming up in the United Arab Emirates with millions riding on it, and some competitors would do anything to get their hands on a bird with Steve's speed.
When Steve goes missing, Kate is devastated and feels positive that her falcon was stolen. Frank and Joe may not know much about birds of prey, but they do know how to solve a mystery. Will they soar to success or come up short?
