The Hardys have come to Lake Tahoe to investigate the kidnapping of movie star Richard Chase. The disappearance is the latest in a series of suspicious incidents that have plagued the filming of Chase's latest flick, Horror Hotel. The boys are convinced that the cause of the sabotage lies deep underground.
Years ago a mine shaft collapsed, claiming the lives of a number of miners. The mine was sealed, and the cause of the cave-in was buried with it. Frank and Joe vow to return to the scene of the accident. But the deeper they dig, the more terror they find -- for the abandoned mine has become a real-life horror hotel, a dark maze of danger, death, and deceit.
